What is Hop on the Bus! ?
Hop on the BUS! is an opportunity for North Carolina students (grades 9 - 12) to gain knowledge of entrepreneurship. The program will give students, working as individuals or teams, a “real life” experience within a formal or non-formal educational setting. The program allows our youth to discover what it would be like to generate an idea and build it into his/her own business. Additionally, one of the value added opportunities with this program is encouraging our youth to believe they can start new business ventures.
- Participants will develop a blueprint of their own business during the course of this competition, which will help the business prepare for a successful start. In this competition, the judges will simulate loan officers in reviewing each student’s business plan.
- Hop on the BUS! will take place during the Fall semester and Spring semester.
- The contest is split into three rounds. At the end of the third round the plans are reviewed by the panel of judges and the top 10 teams are invited to submit a video presentation. The top three teams are then selected as the winners.
- Full contest rules, requirements and each round of questions are included elsewhere on the site.
